"Education is key not only to every child's individual future, but also to the survival of humanity as we know it. Great teachers don't just 'teach'; they nurture children's curiosity, spark ideas, encourage children to learn from and with one another, and bring out the best in their potential. The Global Teacher Prize is a groundbreaking, innovative and yet down-to-earth initiative to identify the best teachers -- and harness a better, brighter future for all in the process."
