Our 2016 Top 50 Finalist Katerine Franco Cardenas is innovating education and her country is celebrating her work! Katerine uses digital technology in her primary school in Medellin in order to improve her students literacy and communication skills. As a result, the children who take her classes score well on the Colombian SABER exams and in the 'Knowledge Olympics'.
Her excellence and innovation in teaching are the reasons why she is one of our finalists and why she has received such praise and recognition as Colombia celebrates her! The Colombian Minister of Education, Gina Parody, met with Katerine:
