Claudia Costin is the founder and director of FGV CEIPE – Center for Excellence and Innovation in Education Policies in the prestigious Getulio Vargas Foundation, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She was the Global Director for Education at the World Bank and member of the Global Commission for The Future of Work at the ILO (International Labor Organization), in 2018. She has held academic positions at the Catholic University of São Paulo, Getulio Vargas Foundation, INSPER Institute of Education and Research, École Nationale d’Administration Publique in Québec and more recently at Harvard Graduate School of Education. She was Ministry of Administration and State reform, State Secretary of Culture of São Paulo and Secretary of Education at the municipality of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Teaching is more than just transferring the knowledge accumulated by the previous generations to the new ones, it is also about preparing the students to be innovators, to break paradigms and be able to build new ones.
